Beautiful lost things

A Book of Endings
A new one: an abandoned funpark.

Via [info]chrisbarnes, Opacity: Urban Ruins.

And some old favourites: Modern Ruins and Abandoned Places.

Just because I love the disordered beauty of crumbling constructions, the way they seem to want to return to the ocean somehow. The way old buildings seem to develop a coiled complacency and, shirking modernity, find a new personality that is more fragile & more compelling. Empty, damaged places make me feel both mortal and immortal, as if I could go on dying forever. I want to sit and let them drink me up.
